Patricia Ern is CNRS Senior Researcher (DR) at the Institute of Fluid Mechanics, Toulouse, France (IMFT). Her research concerns two-phase flows and hydrodynamical instabilities, and investigates experimentally the coupling between the path and the wake of freely moving isolated bodies (solid bodies or bubbles) at moderate Reynolds numbers, and the modifications induced by perturbations such as the presence of a companion body, of a wall, of a density stratification, or the agitation generated by a bubble swarm. She is also interested in gaz-liquid configurations involving atomization.
