Prof. Alessandro Bottaro

Keynote title :
Flow over and around porous, deformable bodies: perspectives from
homogenisation theory

Alessandro Bottaro is Full Professor of fluid mechanics at the University of Genova since 2003, and holds an "Attractivity Chair" from the Institut National Polytechnique de Toulouse since december 2014. His main scientific contributions are relative to hydrodynamic stability theory, adjoint-based sensitivity analysis, and biomimetics. He has presided the Scientific Council of the French Foundation on Aeronautics and Space from 2007 to 2011, and is President since 2016 of the Scientific Committee of the Marseille-based Laboratory of Excellence "Labex Mechanics and Complexity". The "Istituto Lombardo" Academy has bestowed upon Alessandro Bottaro the Edoardo Kramer Prize, as "the Italian engineer with significant contributions to fluid dynamics and turbulence".
